What kind of PR these children would benefit form?

Hi Tiiu!

interesting input for thinking about this issue...What do personaly think which PR is needed in Africa?

I don't have an answer to your question, not sure if I ever will. Africa is so diverse that it would be difficult (most probably even impossible) to approach PR the same way in different countries so that it would be effective.

I agree, it was a hard question I asked you... ;) But your input focuses on PR for Africa as a developing continent and not PR of African bussinesses? Am I right? My opinion is that Africa gets a lot of PR - as your picture show- through NGOs and famous people supporting these NGOs. Also, when Madonna or Angelina Jolie adpot African childs, it is some kind of PR. Do you agree with that? If that is good PR or not and if this PR is desirable for Africa, that is another question... But how is it called: Every PR is good PR?

well, that is just what came to my mind when I saw your pictures...

We have decided to introduce PR in Africa in general first, and then focus more on four countries - Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya and South Africa. And hopefully draw some conclusions based on our findings at the end. So, at the moment I'm not so sure what kind of material we will be presenting here.
I agree that celebrities adopting children from Africa and supporting various NGOs is PR for Africa, but as you said, it's hard to say if it is good or not, desirable or undesirable for Africa.
I'm glad that the photos I posted started this discussion here - that was my intention :)

Hi!!
i am looking forward to PR in South Africa as it had a really hard history with apartheid... I am curious if this had affected PR..

First thing that came to my mind about these pictures was the question who is benefiting this kind of PR? In my opinion this is very good PR for David Beckham, he is seen as a nurturing and caring person. But will this kind of PR really give concrete help to African people who would need it?

I fully agree that David Beckham will benefit from this kind of PR. And I really hope that this brings more attention to the problems in Africa that would need among other things financial support form more developed countries to be solved. This is at least what I hope... Don't know actually if it helps.
